Summer Reading is Important!

Summer Reading is Important!

The OCPS Summer Reading Initiative is on again this year to fight that “summer slide”. We want students reading all summer to keep the momentum going, and to ensure that they start the 2018-2019 school year on target. Parents are encouraged to visit to obtain reading lists by grade level, search for books, apps, interactive literacy Websites, e-books, parent resources, and literacy events around town.

The theme this year is “Where in the World is OCPS Reading”. OCPS Social Media will be sharing the literacy message, so take photos of your children reading and hash-tag #OCPSReads to post pictures to our county sites. You might just win a prize for categories that include Most Creative Picture, Best Quote, Best Location, and more.
